we are trying to pierce open the iron curtain with our roses…
Two years gone by, and our Lee Tung (Wedding Card) Street has been dismantled into a piece of wasteland. Since its beginning in 2003 from Lee Tung Street, for 9 years on, seeds of democratic city planning, tightly weaving peoples’ livelihood and democracy, has been spread to different places. Up till now, the H15 Concern Group, formed by residents, shop owners and volunteers is still working at the street corners, going to different districts earmarked for urban renewal projects, organizing the affected, caring about the powerless.
History, is constructed by people who dare to kick against the pricks.
The 1 hour documentary, with residents participated in its making, tells the story of how ordinary people like any one of us, fought for the right which was meant to be ours, in dignity. A group of ordinary people, what have they done, to allow the society to have discovered that the development of our city must be closely scrutinized and re-thought of. Being human, if we still want to be, what would we surrender, and what are the things that we would never give-up.
